Fire damages northeast Columbus apartments | #ESC_LLC #Fire #Apartment #RealEstate | Firefighters were on the scene of a fire at a northeast Columbus apartment building Monday evening. The Columbus Division of Fire was called to the 5100 block of Fallston Court after 6:30 p.m. Photographs from the scene show flames and smoke coming from the roof:

Is there any doubt that fire and apartment buildings do not mix well? The potential for mass deaths by smoke inhalation or fire is tremendously enormous compared to single-family residential. The thing is, there are fire codes that mandate the use of smoke detectors in all hallways as well as bedrooms, bedroom hallways, and in the general living area of each dwelling space.
