Back in March, fire crews were called to Columbia Ballroom to put out the flames that were ravishing the building. A preliminary investigation indicated that someone was soldering pipes for some restoration work and solder got into some insulation and ignited.

“When a fire of this nature destroys a restaurant, hotel, or any other kind of commercial facility, the road back to recovery can be slow and difficult, not to mention expensive, even when you have  insurance,” says John Larkin, Senior Partner with ESC of Greater Ohio. “Be sure you have a kitchen suppression system and a comprehensive monitored fire alarm system to go with it to lessen the time it takes firefighters to get the message and arrive on scene.”
